Harbortown Treatment Center is an licensed Methadone program serving the residents of Southwestern Michigan within a radius of, but not limited to, approximately one hundred miles. This includes a geographic area north to Grand Haven area, south to the Michigan-Indiana border and east to the Kalamazoo area.
The clinic falls under the jurisdiction of the Lakeshore Coordinating Council, CSAS, FDA, and DEA providing treatment for opiate addiction through methadone maintenance and/or detoxification. The program renders treatment to clients eighteen years of age and older, who are addicted to opiates such as heroin, dilaudids, morphine and Demerol, these are not all inclusive.
Substance abuse has a debilitating and disabling effect on individuals and families and can have a devastating effect on the community. Clients beginning treatment are put through an extensive psychosocial inventory by a professional counseling and medical staff. Physical examinations are given to each new client by the program physician, with corresponding laboratory analysis. Individual and group counseling is an integral part of treatment where self-defeating behaviors are defined and dealt with.
Referrals, as necessary, are anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Child & Family Services, Community Mental Health and Vocational Rehabilitation.
